NEBRASKA BUGEATERS FC AND LINCOLN SPORTS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE CHAMPIONSHIP STADIUM PARTNERSHIP
Club announces stadium partnership to use the Lincoln Sports Foundation’s Championship Stadium
Lincoln, Nebraska - Jan. 15, 2018 - Lincoln’s new semi-pro soccer team, the Nebraska Bugeaters FC, and the Lincoln Sports Foundation have announced a long-term partnership to use the Championship Stadium at 7600 N. 70th Street. The field will host all Bugeaters FC home matches and training beginning this Spring.
“We are excited to develop a long-term partnership with the Lincoln Sports Foundation,” club Founder Jonathan Collura said. “We plan on investing resources in to the Championship Stadium to make it a premier community facility.”
Dan Lesoing, President of the Lincoln Sports Foundation said, “We’re excited to announce that the Championship Stadium and Field will be the official home of the Nebraska Bugeaters FC. We are aligned with the Club’s vision.”
Bugeaters FC will make investments into the stadium to repair the field and amenities needed to facilitate a top notch game day. The stadium is the former home of the University of Nebraska’s Women’s Soccer program.
”Ultimately, we plan to launch an academy and additional teams at the Sports Complex.“ Bugeaters FC partner Tim Pendrell added, ”It ticked all of the boxes and will allow us to expand the Club and properly host matches. It just needs a little love.“
Bugeaters FC will unveil its jersey designs at a launch party on January 25th at Backswing Brewery Company at 500 W. South Street #8. In the Spring of 2018 they plan to compete in the premier level of the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), which focuses on pro-development.
