Huddersfield Town and Bugeaters FC Announce Develpment Relationship
Huddersfield Town Academy to work alongside United States based club.
Huddersfield, ENGLAND (May 16, 2019) - Huddersfield Town and Bugeaters FC have today announced a relationship that will focus on connecting the Academy with the Nebraska-based club in the United States.
This unique, mutually beneficial partnership will include collaboration on techniques, strategy and methods used in the US and English games, whilst the Bugeaters will find ways that they can offer Town’s Academy’s scholars a path into football and education in the States.
Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby explained:
“I’m delighted that we’ve agreed this arrangement with a newly-formed, forward-thinking Club in the Bugeaters.”
“I know the standards at their Club and I’m excited that our Academy staff can share ideas on coaching techniques, fitness, analytics and every other area of player development; that’s how you find best practice. Hopefully, in time, this relationship can lead to visits between the two club and potential Academy placements in the United States.”
“The Bugeaters can also offer our Academy scholars real options if they want to go to the United States and pursue an educational path, whilst continuing to play football at a good standard.”
“We are excited to be partnering with such a progressive club in England,” Bugeaters Chairman Jonathan Collura said. “The Huddersfield Town Academy’s focus on elite development was an immediate fit with us and we are excited to add some value to that system.
“This partnership is unique and will give Huddersfield Town a look at potential talent as well as help them with further development available in the United States.”
Bugeaters Head Coach Scott Robertson added:
“The program here in Nebraska is based on the same type of elite development, aiming to take talent to the next level of play. We can also help Huddersfield Town with extended season visits to us and possible placements in the collegiate system.”
Bugeaters FC is a Nebraska-based club. It was founded in 2018 and plays at the fourth level in the United States system. Its focus is on collegiate athletes and the development of them. The name is based on the nickname given to native Nebraskans in the late 1800s.
